AK Japan is committed to your satisfaction with authentic Japanese products. This policy outlines our return process while respecting your statutory rights under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act of British Columbia and the Sale of Goods Act.


1. STATUTORY RIGHTS (LEGAL NOTICE)

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights, including the implied warranties of merchantable quality and fitness for purpose. If a product is not as described, defective, or unsuitable for its stated purpose, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of the timeframes below.


2. RETURN ELIGIBILITY BY CATEGORY

  •  SKINCARE & BEAUTY (Konjac sponges, Sake Kasu products, oils, mists, serums, soaps, bath salts)
    • Unopened, sealed items: returnable within 30 days
    • Opened or used items: NOT returnable (hygiene reasons)
       Exception: defective or damaged on arrival
  • FOOD ITEMS (Konjac rice, noodles, multigrain blends, condiments)
    • NOT returnable (food safety regulations)
       Exception: defective, damaged, or expired on arrival
  • HANDCRAFTED & ZEN GOODS (Lacquerware, ceramics, diffusers, traditional crafts)
    • Unused items in original condition: returnable within 30 days


3. DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED ITEMS

If your order arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of receipt. We will provide a full refund (including original shipping) or a replacement at our cost.


4. RETURN SHIPPING

• Customer-initiated returns: return shipping is paid by the customer
• Defective, damaged, or incorrect items: return shipping paid by AK Japan


5. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN

Email us at [email] with:
• Order number
• Reason for return
• Photos (for defective/damaged items)

We will respond within 2 business days with return instructions.


6. REFUND PROCESSING

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.


7. NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

• Opened skincare/beauty products (unless defective)
• Food items (unless defective)
• Items returned after the eligible period
• Items not in original condition
